One of the most important temple in the city is The Arulmigu Arunachaleswarar temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in the foot hills of the Majestic Annamalai hills. The temple visit thousands of visitors every day. This place becomes even more divine during the Tamil Month of Karthigai (Nov-Dec) where a light is lit on the top of the hill, witnessed and worshipped by a lot of people. This festival is known as the Karthigai Deepam.
